Product Information

  • Product Name
    Mouse N-Cadherin/CD325/CDH2 recombinant protein
  • Documents
  • Description
Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. Acts as a regulator of neural stem cells quiescence by mediating anchorage of neural stem cells to ependymocytes in the adult subependymal zone: upon cleavage by MMP24, CDH2-mediated anchorage is affected, leading to modulate neural stem cell quiescence (PubMed:24952463). CDH2 may be involved in neuronal recognition mechanism. In hippocampal neurons, may regulate dendritic spine density.
  • Protein name
    Cadherin-2
  • Protein short names
    CDW325; CD325; N-CADHERIN; NCAD; CADHERIN 2; CDH2; OTTMUSP00000017505; CDHN; NEURAL CADHERIN; N-CADHERIN 1; CADHERIN-2
  • Uniprot ID
    P15116
  • Gene Name
    Cdh2
  • Source/Expression Host
    Human Cells
  • Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the mouse CDH2 (P15116) (Met1-Ala724) was fused with six amino acids (LEVLFQ) at the C-terminus was expressed and purified.
  • Protein Species
    Mouse
  • Molecular weight
The recombinant mouse CDH2 consists of 706 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 77.8 kDa. The recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 91 and 114 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.
