Product Information

  • Product Name
Rat IL-21 (His Tag) recombinant protein
  • Documents
  • Description
Cytokine with immunoregulatory activity. May promote the transition between innate and adaptive immunity. Induces the production of IgG(1) and IgG(3) in B-cells. May play a role in proliferation and maturation of natural killer (NK) cells in synergy with IL15. May regulate proliferation of mature B- and T-cells in response to activating stimuli. In synergy with IL15 and IL18 stimulates interferon gamma production in T-cells and NK cells (By similarity). During T-cell mediated immune response may inhibit dendritic cells (DC) activation and maturation (By similarity).
  • Protein name
    Interleukin-21
  • Protein short names
    DN-452A22.7; CVID11; IL21; ZA11; IL-21
  • Uniprot ID
    A3QPB9
  • Gene Name
    Il21
  • Source/Expression Host
    Baculovirus-Insect Cells
  • Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the rat IL21 (NP_001102413.1) (Met1-Ser146) was expressed with a polyhistide tag at the C-terminus.
  • Protein Species
    Rat
  • Molecular weight
The recombinant rat IL21 consists of 139 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 16.6 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 20 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
  • Purity
    > 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
  • Activity
Measured by its ability to induced Interferon gamma secretion by human natural killer lymphoma NK-92 cells.
The ED50 for this effect is typically 2-8 ng/ml.
  • Validations

    Rat IL21 / Interleukin 21 Protein (His Tag) SDS-PAGE
