Product Information

  • Product Name
Rat IFN gamma (Fc Tag) recombinant protein
  • Documents
  • Description
Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons.
  • Protein name
    Interferon gamma
  • Protein short names
IFNG; IFN GAMMA; IFI; GAMMA INTERFERON; IFN-G; IMMUNE INTERFERON; IFG; INTERFERON GAMMA
  • Uniprot ID
    P01581
  • Gene Name
    Ifng
  • Source/Expression Host
    Human Cells
  • Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the rat IFNG (P01581) (Met 1-Cys 156) was fused with the Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus.
  • Protein Species
    Rat
  • Molecular weight
The secreted recombinant rat IFNG/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 375 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 42.5 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the rat IFNG/Fc monomer is approximately 52 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
  • Purity
    > 92 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
  • Activity
    1. Measured in antiviral assays using L929 cells infected with vesicular stomatitisvirus (VSV). The ED50 for this effect is typically 1-5 ng/mL.
    2. Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized rat IFNG-Fc (cat:500370) at 10 μg/ml (100 μl/well) can bind biotinylated rat IFNGR-Fc (Cat:502417). The EC50 of biotinylated rat IFNGR-Fc (Cat:502417) is 20.1-46.9 ng/ml.
  • Validations

Rat IFNG / Interferon Gamma Protein (Fc Tag) SDS-PAGE

Rat IFNG / Interferon Gamma Protein (Fc Tag) SDS-PAGE
