Background
Prx5(Peroxiredoxin-5, mitochondrial) reduces hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides with reducing equivalents provided through the thioredoxin system. While PRDX5 was localized to fibroblasts in normal tendon, it was localized to fibroblasts and endothelial cells in degenerative tendon(PMID: 11396953).It can form a dimer of 36 kDa(PMID:20575554).
