Background
Ribonuclease UK114, also named HRSP12, is found predominantly in human adult kidney and liver and is responsible for inhibiting translation by cleaving mRNA. UK114 is mostly expressed in cytoplasm, but occasionally in nucleus in less differentiated cells. UK114 cleaves phosphodiester bonds only in single-stranded RNA. The levels of both the mRNA and protein are markedly reduced in heptatocellular tumors and in human hepatoma cell lines compared with normal liver tissues, suggesting that ribonuclease UK114 may be an important biomarker for heptatic carcinoma. Current antibody catalog# 12930-1-AP is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised from human full-length UK114.
