Background
UMPS, also named as OPRT and ODC, plays an important role in pyrimidine synthesis, converting orotic acid to uridine 5′ monophosphate. UMPS has four isoforms with MW 53 kDa, 43 kDa, 33 kDa and 23 kDa.
