Background
Serum- and glucocorticoid-inducible kinase 3 (SGK3) is a protein kinase of the AGC family of protein kinase A, protein kinase G, and protein kinase C and functions downstream of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)(PMID:21084382). It is also named as DKFZp781N0293, CISK, SGK2, SGKL and may be involved in the regulation of processes such as cell survival, neuronal excitability, and renal sodium excretion. SGK3 mediates cell IL-3-dependent survival signals (PMID:12397388). SGK3 has 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing with the molecular weight of 57 kDa and 53 kDa.
