Description
May function as a repressor or silencer protein, and most likely exerts its repressing activity upon zinc-dependent binding to DNA. May be involved in proper spermatogenesis by repressing the expression of genes unnecessary or incompatible with the maintenance of a haploid cell state (By similarity). Isoform 2 acts as a bridge between FOXP3 and the corepressor TRIM28, and is required for the transcriptional repressor activity of FOXP3 in regulatory T-cells (Treg) (PubMed:23543754). {UniProtKB:Q61967, PubMed:23543754}.
