Description
Electron transfer flavoprotein subunit beta is a subunit of electron transfer flavoprotein, serves as a specific electron acceptor for several dehydrogenases. It transfers the electrons to the main mitochondrial respiratory chain via ETF-ubiquinone oxidoreductase (ETF dehydrogenase). Electron transfer flavoprotein subunit beta and alpha combine a heterodimer can binds 1 FAD per dimer. Defects in ETFB are the cause of glutaric aciduria type 2B (GA2B).
