Description
Neurotrophic factor that enhances survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake. May also modulate local neuronal effects in distal regions of the motor neuron.

Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the mature form of rat GDNF (Q07731-1) (Ser78-Ile211) was expressed, with a polyhistide tag at the N-terminus.

Activity
1. Measured in a cell proliferation assay using SH‑SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 10-50 ng/mL in the presence of Recombinant Rat GFR alpha‑1/GDNF R alpha‑1 His Chimera.
2. Immobilized rat His-GDNF (78-211) at 10 μg/ml (100 μl/well) can bind rat GFRA1-Fc (cat:503822), The EC50 of rat GFRA1-Fc (cat:503822) is 20-46.6 ng/ml. -
Validations
