Background
EYA2, also named as EAB1, belongs to the HAD-like hydrolase superfamily and EYA family. It coactivates SIX1. The Six1-EYA2 interaction may inhibit breast cancer progression. EYA2 is required for Six1-activated TGF-beta signaling.(PMID:21706047) It may be involved in development of the eye. This protein has 3 isoforms produced by alternative splicing with the molecular weight of 59 kDa, 57 kDa and 50 kDa. It can be detected two bands of 70 kDa and 56 kDa in the neuroblastoma cells by western blot(PMID:12039049).
