  • Description

Dippu-DH31 is a 31-amino acid peptide diuretic hormone isolated from the cockroach Diploptera punctata. It represents a distinct type of insect diuretic hormone, exhibiting significant sequence similarity to the vertebrate calcitonin family rather than to the corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF)-like insect diuretic hormone family. The peptide stimulates fluid secretion in Malpighian tubules and increases cAMP production in certain insect species.

Its mechanism of action differs from that of CRF-like diuretic hormones. Physiological studies indicate Dippu-DH31 likely acts via a calcium-dependent signaling pathway to influence ion transport, contrasting with the primarily cAMP-mediated action of peptides like Dippu-DH46. This is supported by its synergistic interactions with other peptides and its non-selective effect on monovalent cation transport, which leaves the urine potassium-to-sodium ratio unchanged.

  • Storage Guidelines

  • About TFA salt

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.

Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.

Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.

In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
