Background
ADAMTS12(A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 12) is also named as AT12, ADAM-TS12, PRO4389 and belongs to the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) protein family. It may play roles in pulmonary cells during fetal development or in tumor processes through its proteolytic activity or as a molecule potentially involved in regulation of cell adhesion. ADAMTS7 and ADAMTS12 appear to be potent negative regulators of endplate cartilage development(PMID:22247065). This protein has 3 isoforms produced by alternative splicing. The full length protein has 14 glycosylation sites.
