Table 1. Recipe
Name | Amount | Concentration | Formula/M.W. | CAS # |
---|---|---|---|---|
Nuclear fast red | 1 g | 2.798 mM | C14H8NNaO7S/357.28 | 6409-77-4 |
50 g | 0.075 M | Al2[SO4]3·18H2O/666.43 | 7784-31-8 |
- Prepare 0.8 L of distilled water in a suitable container.
- Add 1 g of Nuclear fast red to the solution.
- Add 50 g of Aluminum sulfate octadecahydrate to the solution.
- Add distilled water until the volume is 1 L.
- Heat with stirring until nearly boiling, then leave overnight to cool. There is a substantial residue of insoluble material, which must be removed by decanting and filtering. The solution keeps for ~1 year; it may need to be filtered before each use.
