TBP forms the TFIID-A module within the complex and binds to and bends promoter DNA during PIC formation. Additionally, TBP is involved in RNA polymerase I and III transcription as part of the SL1/TIF-IB and BRF2-containing complexes, respectively. TBP is localized to the nucleus, where it functions at the core of transcriptional machinery, making it fundamental to gene expression regulation.
