  • Description

The PTP peptide, with the amino acid sequence KTLLPTP, is a plectin-targeted polypeptide. It is designed to specifically bind to plectin-1, a cytoskeletal protein that exhibits aberrant mislocalization on the surface of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells. This exclusive surface overexpression in neoplastic epithelium makes plectin-1 a target for molecular recognition.

In the context of a bispecific molecular probe, the PTP peptide is often conjugated with an integrin-targeting RGD peptide. This combination leverages the close biological relationship between plectin and integrins, such as ITGB4, in PDAC. The dual-targeting approach aims to enhance binding affinity and specificity through a synergistic, multi-level interaction with cellular markers overexpressed in distinct tumor compartments.

  • Storage Guidelines

  • About TFA salt

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.

Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.

Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.

In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
