Description
Kisspeptin-2 is a decapeptide encoded by the KiSS-2 gene, which is one of two paralogous kisspeptin genes identified in non-placental vertebrates. The peptide has the amino acid sequence FNFNPFGLRF. In teleost fish, such as the sea bass, KiSS-2 mRNA is expressed in the brain and gonads. Comparative functional studies indicate that the Kisspeptin-2 decapeptide exhibits significantly greater potency than the Kisspeptin-1 peptide in stimulating the secretion of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone in fish. Phylogenetic and genomic analyses suggest that KiSS-2 and KiSS-1 originated from the duplication of an ancestral gene, but the KiSS-2 gene has been lost in placental mammals.

About TFA salt
Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.
Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.
Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.
In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
