Product Information

  • Product Name
Human Inhibin beta B/INHBB (His Tag) recombinant protein
  • Documents
  • Description
Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins.
  • Protein name
    Inhibin beta B chain
  • Protein short names
    MGC157939; ACTIVIN; INHBB
  • Uniprot ID
    P09529
  • Gene Name
    INHBB
  • Source/Expression Host
    Human Cells
  • Expression Plasmid/cDNA
A DNA sequence encoding the pro form of human INHBB (NP_002184.2) (Met 1-Ala 407) was expressed, fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
  • Protein Species
    Human
  • Molecular weight
The secreted pro form of human INHBB comprises 390 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 43.7 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the apparent molecular mass of rhINHBB is approximately 17, 42 and 55 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, corresponding to the mature form, pro peptide and pro form respectively.
  • Purity
    > 95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
  • Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA.
    Immobilized human INHBB-His (Cat: 501179) at 10 μg/ml (100 μl/well) can bind biotinylated mouse FLRG-His (Cat: 10591-M08H) with a linear range of 0.031-0.125 μg/ml.
  • Validations

Human Inhibin beta B / INHBB / Activin B Protein (His Tag) SDS-PAGE

Human Inhibin beta B / INHBB / Activin B Protein (His Tag) SDS-PAGE
