  • Description

The Influenza HA (529-537) peptide, with the amino acid sequence IYATVAGSL, is derived from the hemagglutinin protein of the Influenza A/Japan/305/57 (H2N2) virus. This nine-amino-acid region is located within the transmembrane domain of hemagglutinin and serves as an epitope recognized by H-2Kd-restricted cytotoxic T-lymphocyte clones. Structural analysis indicates that specific residues within the peptide are critical for immune recognition. For instance, the glycine at position 7 is essential for binding by H2-subtype-specific CTL clones, while conserved threonine at position 4 and alanine at position 6 contribute to cross-reactive recognition by CTL clones that target both H1 and H2 subtypes. The peptide shares compatibility with a corresponding region in the H1 subtype hemagglutinin, highlighting a conserved structural motif that enables targeted immune responses across influenza subtypes.

  • Storage Guidelines

  • About TFA salt

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.

Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.

Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.

In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
