    GV1001 is a peptide derived from the reverse transcriptase subunit of human telomerase (hTERT). It was originally developed as a vaccine against various cancers. GV1001 exhibits cell-penetrating peptide (CPP) properties, enabling the cytosolic delivery of macromolecules such as proteins, DNA, and siRNA. Unlike typical CPPs, GV1001 achieves cytosolic delivery via interaction with extracellular heat shock protein 90 (eHSP90) and 70 (eHSP70) complexes. The binding of GV1001 to eHSP not only facilitates cytosolic delivery but also leads to additional biological effects. These effects include a strong anti-cancer immune response, potentially contributing to its efficacy as an anticancer vaccine.

  • About TFA salt

    Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a strong acid, which is commonly used to cleave synthesized peptides from solid-phase resins and is also used to improve HPLC performance in the peptide purification step. By default, custom peptides are delivered as lyophilized TFA salts, and can contain as much as 10-45% TFA.

    TFA in custom peptides can cause inexplicable discrepancies in subsequent assay data. For instance, TFA in nM concentrations has been shown to interfere with cellular assays, inhibiting cellular proliferation in some instances, and increasing cell viability in others . It has also been found to be an unintended allosteric modulator of the glycine receptor, GlyR.
